Leon Anthony Perkins entered into eternal rest on May 5, 2018, at the age of 88. Leon was the cherished husband of the late Lena Valenti Perkins. Loving step-father of Margaret Gay Saladino (John Saladino, Jr.) Proud grandfather of Randy (Amelie) and Ryan (Tina) Saladino. Great-grandfather of Marisa, Madison, Mackenzie, Morgan, Mallory and Roman Saladino. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Louis Perkins and Maria Varela and his sister, Melida Parrales. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. VIRTUE ST., in Chalmette, on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
