Lorraine Beaucoudray Steilberg

Lorraine Beaucoudray Steilberg passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her lovely family at the age of 95. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resided in Covington, LA. Lorraine was a beloved widow, who shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, building a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose legacy lives on through generations. Though she was a dedicated homemaker, she also proudly owned Lorraine’s Country Crafts, a business where she ran purely out of joy and passion. Her greatest loves were painting and cooking, talents she shared generously with those around her. She also enjoyed drawing and treasured spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she found her greatest happiness in hosting family gatherings filled with laughter, food, and love.

Lorraine is survived by her children, James Jr. (Earline), Daniel (Nungky), Thomas Sr., Ronald Sr., Robert Sr. (Beryl), Donald Sr. (Debbie), Terri Schallenberg (Herman) and Cheryl Firmin (Albert); her grandchildren, Tracy (Jason), James III, Theresa (Denis), Cherie (Wayne), Thomas Jr., Carrie, Kelly, Timothy, Kristian, Justin, Robert Jr. (Bri), Brandi (Brandon), Donald Jr., Kelsi, Casey, Jessica (Adam), Paul Jr., Emily (Chris) and Austin (Taylor); her 21 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Steilberg Sr.; her parents, Fernand Beaucoudray & Laurentine Hyver Beaucoudray; her siblings, Harold, Raymond, Fernard Jr., and Lucille. She will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her home was always a place of comfort, and her presence will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
