

Louis A. Battle, “Lou Lou” age 55, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 12:10 AM, at his home in Violet, LA., surrounded by his family and several close friends. Lou Lou lived and courageously battled his illness of thyroid cancer for over 10 years. He was a native of Violet, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi Assavedo Battle; two children Alivia Lynn and Luke Louis. He was the son of late Louis E. Battle and Diane Rodriguez Bourgeois and the stepson of Danny Bourgeois; siblings Antonia Battle White (Jimbo) and Christopher M. Battle (Cierra); stepbrothers Jeff, Mark and Chris Eason; brother-in-laws Nathan Assavedo (Brittany), Chad Assavedo (Alicia) and Brad Assavedo (Kurstin); grandson of Arnold “UU” F. Rodriguez (Josephine) and Louis A. Battle (Bailey); numerous beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren and his beloved lifelong loving friend, Donnie Lee (Rachel).
Lou Lou loved his family and friends and was a lifelong commercial fisherman by trade and crafted several fishing boats which were used in his fishing business. He was known to be a man who was passionately devoted to his trade and immensely enjoyed "Working on the Water." He was loved and respected by his family and numerous friends for having a kind, generous, giving heart. As remembered by his family and beloved friends, Lou Lou would quietly and humbly perform many acts of charity. Lou Lou would always say "yes," when asked for his support/assistance, as we would say, "once Lou Lou was asked to help, consider it as being done."
The family is deeply grateful to the medical staff at MD Anderson Hospital, especially his oncologist, Dr. DaDu, for their professionalism, dedication and compassion extended to Lou Lou during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will begin at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA.
