

Marlene Mary Ferrand Day, 74, of Metairie, passed away on August 25, 2021 in Jefferson. Marlene is survived by her husband Leo Day; children Stephen Day, Deborah Day, Rebecca Day Bordelon and her partner Gene Bordelon, and Kimberly Day Coffey and her husband Shawn Coffey; goddaughter Melissa Marion and her partner Frank Carson; grandchildren Cameron Bordelon and Chloe Coffey; siblings Dinah Wall and her husband Richard, Jeannette Kirsch, José Ferrand and his wife Nora, and Tony Ferrand; and longtime friends Pamela White and MaryJo Fontenot and her husband Robert. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, the late Louis and Marina Ferrand, and siblings the late Sonia Haindel, Luis Ferrand, and Carmen Bennet. She graduated from Alcée Fortier High School and attended Loyola University in New Orleans. She married Leo on January 27, 1968, at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in New Orleans and worked as a homemaker, in accounts receivables for Dixie Stevedores, Inc., and as a clerk at National American Bank.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, in Marlene’s memory. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
