Matilda Sanfilippo Nicolosa

Matilda Nicolosa went to be with her Lord on February 26, 2019 at the age of 94. She was married to the late Leonce “Nat” Nicolosa. Daughter of the late Joseph Sanfilippo and Lucy Diecidue Sanfilippo. She was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Sanfilippo, and brothers Ignatus Sanfilippo, Joseph Sanfilippo and Anthony St. Philip. She is survived by her children, Constance Boteler (John), Deborah Crutti (Joseph), Leonce Nicolosa, Jr. and Martin Nicolosa (Sharon), Joseph Ward (Julia) and Vivian Nicolosa Williams. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Matilda was born in New Orleans on October 12, 1924 and resided in St. Tammany Parish for the last 13 years. She faithfully attended worship service at Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Slidell, and her family finds great comfort and peace, knowing that she is in Heaven with her Savior, the Lord Jesus.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Council on Aging in Slidell for their kindness and support to our Mom, Matilda and other seniors, and to a very special friend, Emmett.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA Monday, March 4, 2019 from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in Matilda’s honor at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
