

Mirtala Rosa Villanueva Toledo passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the age of 89. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She was the loving wife to Ernesto M. Toledo, Sr. for 60 years. Devoted mother to son Ernesto M. Toledo, Jr and daughter Suyapa M. Toledo. Proud grandmother to Collin P. Cusimano. Daughter of the late Jose Angel Villanueva and Ernestina Martinez Villanueva. Sister of Delia Soto (the late Danilo), Tacha Mena, and the late Antonio Villanueva (Cristina Perello), Angel Senen Villanueva (survived by, Ada Henderson), Juan Angel Villanueva (survived by, Bruny Fullerton), Juana America Villanueva, José Ángel (Joche) Villanueva, and Jose Roberto Villanueva (survived by, Gloria Maria Fajardo). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, especially Robert J. Cusimano, Jr.
Mirtala was born in Honduras and was a resident of Arabi, Louisiana for 40 plus years before moving to Madisonville, Louisiana. She will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spoiling her grandchild. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed.
