Norma "Noonie" Ansardi

Norma Ann Fernandez Ansardi passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the age of 78. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched in some way throughout her very memorable life. She was the cherished wife of 61 years to Charles Jude Ansardi Jr. Loving mother of Karen Becnel (Leo Becnel), Darrel Ansardi and Laurie Jernigan (Earnest "Tom" Jernigan). Step-mother of William "Billy" Fortmeyer. Sister of Carolyn Nicosia Mooneyham (Jerry Mooneyham). Proud grandmother of Gary Jernigan (Candice), Thomas Jernigan, Brielle Ansardi Landry (Rob) and Landon Ansardi. Great-grandmother of Paris Jernigan, Charles Jernigan, Bear Jernigan, Rafe Jernigan, Bryleigh Ansardi and Grayson Ansardi. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lucille Kelty Fernandez; her brother Kenneth Fernandez; her grandson Baby Ansardi and her great-grandson Logan Ansardi. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Norma was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish where she was the Domestic Goddess among her family. She was well loved, and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched. Very Special thanks for the wonderful care that was given to Norma by the North Oaks Hospice crew especially; Patrice, Berthiel, Janice, Carol, Elaine, Jason, Charles, Tyrus, Gobel and Drs. Allen and Gaudet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, June 2nd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in Norma’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
