Paula Ann Chauvin

Paula C. Chauvin passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023 at the age of 87. A native of Houma, La., Paula met the love of her life Charles G. Chauvin, Sr. of Thibodaux, La. in 1954 and married at St. Francis de Sales Church on August 12, 1956. Shortly thereafter, Chalmette, La., became their home, raising four children and residing for the next 45 years. Paula began her career with St. Bernard Bank & Trust which she managed for years . Her dedication and work ethic became an inspiration to those around her before retiring in 1995. Covington became her home for the last 18 years where she lived until her death. Daughter of the late Bernard Chaisson and Emily Toups , she is survived by her children, Monica Bear (Ray) of Covington, Joan McCall (Rodney) of Richmond, Tx., Charles Chauvin, Jr. (Marie) of Ponchatoula and George Chauvin (Karen) of Marrero, La. Her grandchildren, Geoffrey Chauvin, Matthew Bear, Brooke Merry, Leslie Bear, Conner Chauvin, Carson Chauvin and Cooper Chauvin and great grandchildren, Wyatt Bear, Finn Merry, Annalise Chauvin, Greyson Chauvin, Dean Chauvin and Ellis Chauvin. She is also survived by many relatives, cousins and dear friends. Paula was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother as her life was fulfilled by family gatherings and found contentment in the simplicity of everyday moments. Her memory lives on through the countless lives she touched with her beautiful smile and generous heart. Gracious thanks to Heart of Hospice for the care given to Paula in her last weeks of life.

Paula will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Charles in a graveside ceremony, at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00AM.
