Rita Wells Dutzy

Rita Wells Dutzy passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the age of 89. She was the cherished wife of 49 years to the late Michael Dutzy. Daughter of the late Jules Wells and Rose Cali Wells. Loving mother of Wanda Manasco and Michael Dutzy Jr. (Peggy). Sister of Louis Wells (Bonnie) and the late Jules Wells and Ellis Wells. Proud grandmother of Courtney Manasco, Lindsey Manasco, Michael Dutzy III (Nicole) and Danielle Dutzy Joyner (Joshua). Great grandmother of Gavin Barras, Brody Melerine, Aaron Joyner, Brenton Joyner, Michael Dutzy, Luke Dutzy and Julianne Dutzy. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Rita was a special woman who was deeply dedicated to her family. Her life revolved around her loved ones. She found immense joy in celebrating holidays surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose presence brought her such immense happiness. Rita was also a passionate player of Pokeno and other card games, a favorite pastime she enjoyed with family and friends. Her warmth, generosity and kind heart touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed and a cherished part of our memories.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9:00AM - 11:00AM, followed by a memorial service in Rita's memory beginning at 11:00AM. Inurnment will be private.
