Robert "Bob" G. Dempsey

Robert George Dempsey passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the age of 82. He was born on July 13, 1939 to the late William Robert Dempsey and Dorothy Elizabeth Mayer Dempsey. He was married to the late Sandra P. Dempsey for 48 years. He is survived by his son William R. Dempsey. He had two brothers : Howard Dempsey (Betty) and the late William Dempsey. Robert retired from the Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistant Center as a consultant for small and disadvantage business on government contract process. He also retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers, New Orleans District as a contracting officer. Additionally, he was a music instructor, an arranger of the music, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Stardusters Drum and Bugle Corps and the Louisiana Southerners Drum and Bugle Corps. Special thanks to Dr. Thomas H. Hall and Dr. Mathew D. McElveen and their staff for care they provided him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, November 22, 2021, at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE STREET, in Chalmette, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will be held in his memory at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
