Ronald Joseph Nicosia

Ronald Joseph Nicosia passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016, at the age of 69. He was the cherished husband of Judy White Nicosia for 50 years. Loving father of Perry M. Nicosia (wife, Nicole DelosReyes) and Angel Nicosia Poche (husband, Rene Poche). Son of the late Sam Nicosia and Verda Serpas Nicosia. Brother of the late Dale Michael Nicosia Sr. Brother-in-law of Elise Turner Nicosia, Joyce White Asevado (Larry), Dorina White Bryant (Wayne), and Sandra White. Brother-in-law of Robert White (Rosiland). Proud grandfather of Kristen Noel Aucoin (Adam Traweek), Tyler William Aucoin (Ashley Branch), Gene Paul Nicosia, Ashlin Noel Nicosia and Cole Michael Nicosia. Godfather of Cathy Nunez, Dale Michael Nicosia Jr. (wife, Brenda Kennedy Nicosia), and Scott Reeves (Kim). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ron was born on November 8, 1946 in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard, LA for his entire life. He retired from Entergy Corporation after 32 years of service. He was a Recreation Coach at Kenilworth Park and community leader throughout his adult life. He was elected to the St. Bernard Parish School Board in 1995 and was a current member of the board. He was honored by the Contessa Entillina Society in 2015 as their "Man of the Year." He was passionate about his family and community and he will be forever remembered for his kindness, compassion and empathy for all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St Bernard Catholic Cemetery, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA 70085.
