

Rudolph “RJ” John Liggio passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was 73 years old. RJ was the devoted husband of 50 years to Carolyn Cancienne Liggio; loving father of Robert Liggio (Jennifer), Angela Fontenot (Patrick), Brian Liggio, and Katie Griffin (Thomas); proud grandfather of Sam, Cece, and Ben Liggio, Maddie Kirsch (Nick), Jonathan, Braden, and Molly Fontenot, and Toby Griffin; brother of Mary Liggio, Joe (Meredith), John (Sandra), Vincent, and Frank; brother-in-law to Linda Barberot (Glenn), and Michael Cancienne (Randi). He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Rita Engelhardt Liggio, and John Liggio, Sr.; and by his brother, the late Bill Liggio.
RJ was a proud Marine Corps Veteran. He enjoyed a 40-year career as a Meat Cutter with Winn Dixie, and Walmart Stores. He found great joy in woodworking and gardening but was never happier than when spending time with his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend an evening visitation on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM. A morning visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at St. Bernard Memorial, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in RJ’s memory at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, with Marine Corps Honors.
