Sidney J. Martin, age 93, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family. He was married to the love of his life, Vee, for an extraordinary 73 and a half years, a testament to their enduring commitment, partnership, and faith. Together they built a family that brought him his greatest joy. A proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great- great grandfather, he cherished time spent with his family above all else. His presence was steady, his advice thoughtful, and his love unwavering. He took great pride in watching his family grow across generations. Sidney is survived by his wife, Vee Martin; his children, Vanessa LaNasa (Tony) and Marisa Martin (Justin); his grandchildren, Mandy Bianchini (Al), Rachel Oakman (Drew), Whitney Surbeck (Charlie), Meghan Sobonya (Chris), Morgan Salinas, Madison Martin, Wesley Martin and Gunnar Hendershot; his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ashleigh, Nicholas, Darian, Rylie, Cameron, Ryan, Leon, Travis, Logan, Reese, Chase, Ivy, Addilyn, JP and Jude; his great-great grandchildren, Michael and Isaac. After more than 30 years of dedicated service, he retired from Exxon Mobil, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Retirement allowed him to spend more time doing the things he loved most. He found happiness in gardening, hunting, and fishing, and was especially skilled in woodworking, creating and fixing things with care and precision. A lifelong fan of baseball, he also proudly supported LSU sports, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his teams. Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, kind heart, and deep appreciation for simple pleasures—time outdoors, honest work, and family gathered together. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
