Stephen "Big Steve" Richardson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen "Big Steve" H. Richardson, age 69, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Stephen was a man of many talents and deep passions. Known for his quiet strength and warm heart, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was sharpening knives to perfection, casting a line into the water, or shaping wood with skilled hands, he approached each task with care and pride.

A true lover of football and a skilled cook, he often brought family together around the game or the dinner table. His meals were made with love, and his presence made any gathering feel like home. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather whose laughter, stories, and hugs will be deeply missed.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Evie C. Richardson; his children, Kristie Richardson and Stephen H. Richardson Jr.; his grandchildren, Bradley Richardson, Kalob Richardson, Peyton Richardson, Arlyn Hathcock and Isabella Prestenback; his siblings, Mary Watkins and Bobby Kirk, and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him. He preceded in death by his parents, Bettie Kirk and Leonard Richardson; his siblings, Jenny Bordelon, Diane Boudreaux and Todd Kirk.

Though he has gone too soon, Stephen’s spirit, craftsmanship, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
