

Ms. Sylvia Campagna Guillot passed away surrounded by family on April 1, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Bernard Parish all her beautiful life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Fanz Campagna and August James "Augie" Campagna and two grandchildren, Michelle Konechne and Collin Guillot.
She is survived by her loving companion Al Lefevre, four children: Susan Konechne (Chuck), Lionel Guillot Jr. (Carol), Angela Discon (Cody Myers), and Augie Guillot (Juli); her 11 grandchildren: Tiffany Taylor (Justin), Gerard Discon, Lisa Konechne Perrier (Chris), Courtney Guillot, Tara Discon Thomas (Patrick), Natalie Discon, Charles "Chas" Konechne III (Gabriella), Shane Guillot, Zachary Konechne, Madison Guillot, and Blythe Guillot; her 17 great-grandchildren: Baleigh Watson (Matt), Brooks Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Brycen Konechne, John Discon, Connor Discon, Brady Discon, Myah Discon, Kathryn Thomas, Luke Thomas, Peyton Kessel, Coltyn Kessel, Jaxon Kessel, Harper Perrier, Giuseppe Konechne, Charles "Chip" Konechne IV, Pippa Konechne; and two great-great-grandchildren, Sylvia and Mildred Watson. Also survived by many cousins and close friends.
Sylvia Married Lionel Guillot Sr. in 1953, and they became successful business owners in the St. Bernard community. She was very involved with the community including being chosen as Queen of Arabi Carnival Ball.
Sylvia had a strong faith and was very involved with St. Bernard Catholic Church. She received the "Order of St. Louis IX Medallion Award" from the Archdiocese of New Orleans and continued to give back to the church in many areas including cooking spaghetti dinners, Friday Fish Fries and Church Functions.
Her greatest love was to cook and entertain family and friends and give back to all those who were in need. She hosted and cooked for many charitable functions including Bridge House, St. Bernard Sweet 16 Functions, St. Bernard Jr. Miss, and St. Bernard Giving Back.
Words cannot explain the impact that this beautiful, giving and loving lady had on her family, friends, and community. She was a person of deep faith who genuinely cared for all those around her, and she will be missed deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM-12:30 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to eternal rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
