Sylvia Merwin Reppel

Sylvia Merwin Reppel passed away on April 2, 2023, at the age of 88. Her final days were spent in comfort and peace. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles Hilbert Reppel Sr. who passed away in November 2012. Loving mother of Charles H. Reppel Jr. (Laurie), Michael Reppel, Kelly Reppel (Diane),

Patrick Reppel (Cindy), Nancy Reppel Guerrero (Anthony), Shannan Reppel Mahler, Beth Reppel Martin (Thomas) and Casey Reppel. Proud Grandmother to Nicole and Charlie Reppel, Taylor Reppel Hanson (Chris) and Avery Reppel, Kaylee and Dacey Reppel, Gabriella, Graciella, and Anthony Guerrero Jr., Ladd Jr (Catherine) Julia, Darrin, Katie, Elizabeth, Samantha and Jordan Mahler, Lance, Jackson, Molly and Clay Martin. Daughter of the late Charles Merwin and Clara Hesko Merwin. Sister to Jackie Merwin Lombard (Sonny), the late Charles Merwin Jr. (Linda) and Dennis Merwin.

Sylvia was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she was very active in her kid's sports and other activities. Being a native of New Orleans, Sylvia was an amazing cook who loved to share her food and recipes with everyone including her cakes and cookies. She was also active member Our Lady of Prompt Succor parish where she attended daily mass, was a Eucharistic Minister, participated in weekly church cleaning and prayed weekly at the Adoration Chapel with her dear friend Georgie Nunez. Sylvia will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many who knew her and her big heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNEARL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA, on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held in her memory at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
