Ted Shields Sr.

Ted Shields, Sr., went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on September 20th 2014, at 8:05 p.m. He was born on July 18th 1951 in Delhi, Louisiana to Charles and Mildred Shields. Ted was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Chalmette Refinery, LLC, as an Operator. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist in Slidell, Louisiana. Ted was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, grandfather, step father, and step grandfather. He has been preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Shields, father-in-law Vernon Pierce Rickerson, Sr., mother-in-law Bettie Tapley Rickerson, sister-in-law Linda Shields, Stepson Airman First Class Kenneth Raymond Stevens, Brother-in-law Vernon (Chip) Pierce Rickerson, Jr., brother David Ray Shields, sister-in-law Sharon Laverne Rickerson Sullivan, and grandson Logan Chase Shields. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Theresa Rickerson Shields, mother Mildred Shields, mother-in-law Annabelle Rickerson, son Michael Lynn (Crystal), Stepson Claude Stevens, Jr., Debbie Jean (Dean), stepson Elmer Arthur Stevens, daughter Laurie Ann (Jermie), daughter Stacy Lyn (Wayne Jr.), son Vernon Charles (Patricia), son Ted Lynn Jr. (Gloria), brother Larry Wayne, brother Ronald Gene, and brother David Kirk (Connie). Ted’s grandchildren include: Ariana Paige, Laci Christine, Isabella, and Liam Stevens, Alexander Pope, Robert Stevens, Jess Nunez, Jr., Wayne David III, Kristina Marie, Lloyd Kenneth, Donnie Harmon (Cara), Mary Harmon, Caden Daniel, and – Last but not least – his beloved fur babies Elvis, Elmo, and Prissy Shields.
