Vincent Viet Vu, age 40, of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Vu Viet Vincent, lovingly known as Fat by his closest friends and family, passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 40 in his hometown of New Orleans. Born on November 30, 1984, Vu brought joy and warmth to all who knew him throughout his life. Vu was a man who embraced life with passion and generosity. He had a deep love for food, always experimenting in the kitchen to create delicious meals that brought people together. His beloved dog, Pookie, was his faithful companion and constant source of comfort. One of Vu's greatest passions was helping others. He dedicated much of his time to feeding the homeless in his community, showing kindness and compassion to those in need. His selflessness and caring nature touched the lives of many and made a lasting impact on his community. Those who knew Vu will remember him for his talkative nature and his kind heart. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for, always ready to lend a listening ear or share a laugh.

Vu leaves behind his loving Mom, Dad, older brother, and three younger sisters, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Vu's honor on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Mary Queen of Vietnam, followed by burial at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens. In this time of mourning, the family requests that you please pray for the soul of St. Joseph, as Vu was a man of faith and kindness.

Vu's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
