Wayne “Shaggy” Milton Melerine Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the age of 37. He was married and devoted to his soulmate, Kerri Lee Melerine, whom he cherished. Loving father of Lannah Elizabeth Melerine, Aaron A. Esteves Jr., Kasey M. Esteves, Mason M. Melerine, Aubrey R. Hendrix, Alex T. Hendrix and Austin R. Hendrix. Beloved son of the late Wayne “Shaggy” M. Melerine Sr. and survived by his mother Cynthia Schellinger. Grandson of Violet R. Melerine and the late Milton M. Melerine & Gloria Schellinger and Robert P. Schellinger. Adored brother of Shawn M. Roques and Brandy A. Melerine. Loving uncle of Kevin J. Clark Jr., Paris A. Melerine, Britan A. Angelo and Bren A. Guerra. Wayne was a lifelong resident and commercial fisherman of St. Bernard Parish. He was an avid recreational meditator who loved hunting and being outdoors. Wayne especially enjoyed spending time with friends & family and will be incredibly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM and on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
