

Jeanne was born to the late Thomas and Elnora Ann (Toy) Teasley on July 27, 1926 in Oswego, NY.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, William A. Menter.
Jeanne was a NY resident until 1962 when she and William relocated to Chambersburg, PA to raise their family.
Jeanne is survived by 5 children; William T. (wife Faye), James (wife Drew), Edward (wife Marianne), Stacey and Barbara (husband Edward). She was also the proud, loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The last surviving member of her family, preceded in death by 6 siblings; Hazel Benzing, Katherine Yeager, Dorothy Proud, Barbara Bishop, David Teasley and Carl Teasley.
Jeanne was employed by Agway Company in Chambersburg, PA, until she and Bill relocated to Orange City, Fl, in 1981. She worked at Deltona Public Library as the head of the Children’s Dept. until she retired in 2000. She had a strong love for storytelling, reading and hosting book clubs during the time of her residence in Florida. In addition to her passion for literature, she was also a very talented artist. She painted portraits, or favorite being landscapes and outdoor settings. She also weave baskets, crocheted and knitted in her spare time. In her later years, she loves to play board games with her kids and grandkids, complete crossword puzzles, and read novels. While she never really watched much TV as her love for the arts kept her busy, she did enjoy watching a good movie from time to time.
Throughout Jeanne’s entire life, she held and unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg, PA, as well as St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Debary, FL. Her faith was very important to her and was evident in how she lived her life and raised her family.
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, you will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” – Matthew 6:9-13
The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolias in Chambersburg as well as Manor Care for the love, attention and care they bestowed on our Mother during her final days.
A private memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date.
