Kimberly Renee Custer, 57, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on August 13, 1968, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Joe Ott and the late Inez Younker. Kimberly, known lovingly as Kimmy, Kim, and Grandma to those closest to her, lived a life defined by warmth, joy and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Kimberly shared 35 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ray Custer, building a life together that was rich in love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She possessed a rare and radiant spirit, one that could brighten any room the moment she walking through the door. She had a remarkable gift for putting a smile on the faces of everyone around her, and her outgoing nature drew people to her effortlessly.
Kimberly's passions were as vibrant as her personality. She loved cooking and baking for those she cared about, and she always looked forward to the excitement of bike week. She had a deep love for the beach, the outdoors, and soaking up the sunshine. A proud Dallas Cowboys fan, she also took great pride in her trucks, cars, and motorcycles. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful roses she tended with care, and her heart extended to her beloved fur babies and fish. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her friends and family.
Kimberly is survived by her devoted husband, Ray Custer; her son, Cody Custer; her daughter, Ashley Custer; and her three sisters, Bev Younker, Pam Runshaw, and Cristy Behan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Younker, and her father, Joe Ott.
Kimberly's faith in Christ was a steady source of comfort throughout her life, and her family takes solace in knowing she now rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord, free from pain and filled with everlasting love.
In her memory, her family shares these words:
"Just close your eyes and you will see, all the memories that you have of me. Just sit and relax and you will find, I'm really still there inside your mind. Don't cry for me now I'm gone, for I am in the land of song. There is no pain, there is no fear, so dry away the silent tear. Don't think of me in the dark and cold, for here I am, no longer old. I'm in that place that's filled with love, known to you as 'Up Above.'"
