On Wednesday, October 30, 2024 Albert departed this earthly plane at the age of 78 and went home to be with our Lord and join the love of his life Carolyn Bowers Lee.
Albert joined the faithful congregation of Second Baptist Church ( Kansas City, Mo.) in 1959. He was very active with Sunday School and the Boy Scouts program.
Albert attended elementary school in Kansas City, Mo. and graduated from Lincoln High School in June 1964. He played 7-on-7 football with the Boy’s Club and baseball as a center fielder and catcher, and was an avid athlete in high school swim and baseball teams. After high school, Albert had an opportunity to play baseball on scholarship at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Instead, he joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation in July of 1964 so that he could travel and be stationed in Oklahoma.
After four years of service, Albert was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in August 1968. He returned to Kansas City and worked in various jobs.
In 1971 Albert was introduced to Carolyn Bowers, the love of his life, by her brother Albert Bowers Jr. Albert and Carolyn were married on August 8,1975. A great job opportunity opened up for Carolyn in California, so Albert followed her there.
In California, a daughter was born to the happy couple - Christina Marie Lee.
Albert worked hard for his young family. He often had more than one job at a time. He worked for H&R Block, the IRS and Los Angeles County. He had various positions within LA County and found his groove within the Information Technology area. Being the IT guy at a few different L.A. County hospitals was perfect for him as he loved to socialize with many people. Albert retired from L.A. County in December 2009. He and Carolyn would later move to Gilbert, Arizona in 2009 to be closer to their daughter Christina.
Albert thoroughly enjoyed retirement with travel, bicycle riding, card playing with the Pinochle Crew at the Gilbert Senior Center, and target shooting just to name a few of his hobbies. Albert was very generous and loved to share his joy of coin collecting and was always eager to impart words of wisdom to family and friends. Albert always made family members feel loved and appreciated with cards, gifts, coins and the lucky few who received ‘gold’ chains.
Albert is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Carolyn Bowers Lee, parents Albert Clayton Lee Sr. and Geraldine Rose Middlecroft Lee Sirls, and his brother Griff Sirls.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Christina Marie Lee, his brothers Donald Lee (Linda), & Larry R. Lee Sr. of Kansas City, Mo., his cousin Marvina Howard of Kansas City, Mo., brothers-in-law Albert Bowers Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and Robert Bowers (Hilary) of San Antonio, Tex., sister-in-law Mary Moorer of Sacramento, Calif., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
