Angelina Paredes left to wait on Jesus return on July 30th, 2012. She was born September 27th, 1929 in Gering Nebraska; the 2nd child of William and Bertha Ramirez. Growing up with her brothers Rueben and John and younger sister Virginia; she developed a passion for the arts. She was an accomplished musician expertly playing the piano, accordion, guitar and most notably the violin. While her siblings toiled in the kitchen of their family restaurant, Angelina entertained the customers playing her violin. A love of travel and language took her to an adventure in Mexico City where she taught children English, but returned to the United States fluent in Spanish. Later, while playing in an orchestra she caught the attention of a young man who was instantly captivated by her beauty. Waiting in the wings until after the show was over; Ernest Paredes introduced himself and a lifelong love affair was started. Marrying and raising 9 children the Paredes bunch lived in California and a few other states before finally settling in Arizona in 1973.
As a mother, then grandmother, and ultimately great grandmother, Nana Angie was the coolest always choosing to be a participant rather than spectator. While her daughters were attending Mesa Community College, she decided to attend as well; signing up for a French foreign language and a drama course. The girls now delightfully recall their mother embarrassingly shouting at them across the campus in her effort to get their attention between classes. But at all times Angie was a role model of love and support for her children. Good shoes and good dental care were her mantra, but putting God first in your life was her advice.
A true and faithful servant, Angie never wavered in service and obedience to her Lord Jesus. She was able to live a lifelong goal with a trip to Israel visiting all the sites with such significant historical religious significance. It is very easy to picture her studying her quarterly and reading her bible in preparation for attending Sabbath services. Though we already miss her physical presence we are comforted by the memories of sweetness and grace she lived her live by.
Survived by: Sister Virginia Pacheco; Children Diana Jean Roberts, Sammy Paredes, Delores Madrid, Jacob Paredes, Artemisa Blake, Angie Kaufman, Belia Lapidus, Sarah Teasley and Joseph Paredes.
