Ann's life began in the small town of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. A trailblazer from the start, she was the only female in her high school graduating class to go onto college. She attended Drexel University, where she earned a degree in Home Economics and was a dedicated member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority - an experience she cherished throughout her life.
It was also at Drexel that she met the love of her life, the late Richard "Dick" Kinser. Their partnership was the cornerstone of her world; through Dick passed away in 2006, their enduring bond would have reached a milestone 70th wedding anniversary later this year. Together, they shared a love for dancing that remained a cherished part of their many years together.
In the early years of their marriage, Ann and Dick lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut before returning to the suburbs of Philadelphia, near where Dick had grown up. During this season of her life, Ann was a dedicated homemaker and mother to Sue and Fred. She was known for her hospitality and always welcomed her children's friends into her home, enjoying the energy and company they brought to the household.
Once Sue and Fred left for college, Ann's desire to create and lead took center stage. She founded and operated a highly successful interior design business for over 30 years. She was deeply proud of her professional standing as a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), transforming her lifelong passion into a flourishing career. Ann possessed a rare talent for turning houses into homes, leaving a mark of her beauty and sophistication on every space she touched.
Her strength of character was most evident in her 20-year role as a steadfast caregiver for Dick following his Parkinson's diagnosis in the early 1980's. She remained fiercely by his side, watching over his every need with tireless dedication until his passing.
Drawn by a deep love for the American Southwest, Ann eventually moved to Chandler, Arizona, to be closer to Sue and her family. She spent 20 years in the Sun Lakes community, where she beautifully re established her life. Ann embraced the Arizona lifestyle, enjoying her quiet days at the pool and the camaraderie of the "Cheers" social group, where she made many dear friends.
Ann was the heart of her family and is survived by her children, Susan Schierbrock (William) and Fred kinser (Kim), and her four grandchildren, Ali Schiernbrock, Aaron Schiernbrock, Shelby Kisner, adn Ryan Kisner. They will remember her a a woman of immense capability, elegance, and unwavering determination.
Ann will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Richard, at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, Arizona. They family will gold a private gathering to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Muhammed Ali Parkinson Center at the Barrow Neurological Foundation (Phoenix, AZ), reflecting Ann's dedicated care for those living with Parkinson's.
