It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann (Cowan) Aufranc, age 82, of Chandler Arizona who died on January 3, 2025. Barbara was born in St. James, Missouri to Wilbur Cowan and Myrtle Ruth (Saladin) Cowan on March 30, 1942. She spent most of her life in Columbia, Missouri and was a proud graduate of Hickman High School Class of 1960. She attended one year at the University of Missouri and enjoyed her 25-year career of working at the University of Missouri- Columbia. She enjoyed living in and participating in activities in her local community in Arizona, including past president of Solera Singles Club. Barb had a passion for party planning, drawing, painting, travel, her family and friends and animals. She is survived by daughter Karla Aufranc (Kevin Runnels) of Chandler, Arizona, brother Rick Cowan (Bonita) of Hallsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, it was Barb’s request that donations be made to Animal Guardian Network, 2564 N Arena Del Loma Road, Camp Verde, Arizona 86322, https://animalguardiannetwork.org an animal sanctuary that supports her life long love of animals.
