Carl was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Albert William and Bertha (Wassenhove) Moffet.
He was the second oldest of 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys.
Carl grew up in Oskaloosa and met his high school sweetheart, Beulah Silvers, through his sister Louise, who was very good friends with Beulah.
He joined the U.S. Army at 19 years old and honorably served during WWII, during which time he was stationed in the Philippines.
After his military service, Carl went back to Oskaloosa and married Beulah. Their family grew to include 5 kids: Larry, Elaine, Eileen, Roy and Diane.
They eventually moved from Iowa to Colorado, where he co-owned a pre-hung door service with his friend Ivan.

Carl and Beulah retired to Arizona where they spent their remaining years together.
He never played golf but enjoyed watching it and could tell you all of the rules. He also loved baseball and would often arrange his TV watching schedule around the Diamondbacks games.
