Delores grew up on a small dairy farm in Iowa as the 2nd youngest of 6 children; 4 brothers and one sister. After graduating high school in 1949, she married Duane L. Pinney on August 24, 1952. Delores held many jobs throughout her life; banking, restaurant hostess, etc. within the various places she and her husband lived. They lived in small towns in Iowa; San Diego, California; Lincoln, Nebraska; and for the last 46 years in Tempe, Arizona. Once they arrived in Arizona in 1975 Duane, Delores, and their son, Brian, started a very successful janitorial company, Corporate Cleaning, where Delores ran the front office until she retired in 1992.
Delores was kind and generous to all! Her innate matriarchal character throughout raised 1 daughter; 2 sons; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as 23 foster children that came and went in the 1960's and 1970's. She was loved by many and disliked by none, humble and gracious. We will all miss you terribly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at King of Glory Lutheran Church on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required while at King of Glory Lutheran Church. A Graveside Service will promptly follow in Valley of the Sun Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
