

Demetrius Tirrell Williford is the youngest son born to the union of Herman and Ruthie Mae (Fitzgerald) Williford, Sr., April 4, 1973, in Gary, Indiana. He was raised a Christian in Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. Demetrius continued fighting the good fight of faith, transitioning into eternity as a good and faithful servant.
He attended Gary’s West Side High School, graduating with honors in 1991. The National Honor Society member attended Purdue University Calumet and DeVry University. In 2000, Demetrius earned a bachelor’s of science degree with honors in electronic engineering technology.
October 1996, he relocated to Santa Clara, California, and then to Portland, Oregon, launching his new career at Applied Materials, Incorporated. Demetrius quickly advanced in his career, which resulted in his relocation to Chandler, Arizona in 2005. His quality control and management role enabled him to travel throughout the United States and abroad, including Israel, North Africa, and China.
Demetrius married the love of his life, Tiffany Monique Hankins on May 28, 2011. To their union was born two blessed and beautiful daughters, Aaliyah and Amaya. Together, the Williford family worshipped at the Living Word Bible Church in Mesa, Arizona. Demetrius felt Tiffany’s gentle touch and fervent prayers as he triumphantly conquered every challenging stage of life, ascending into God’s presence.
Demetrius is remembered for his family values, brilliant mind, and good will toward all. He took pride in playing and imparting life lessons into his daughters. Motorcycling, grilling, traveling, and watching sports were his favorite pastimes. He remained a fervent fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls.
His father, Herman Williford, Sr., brother-in-law, Michael Simpson, and nephew Deon Powell preceded Demetrius in passing. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Tiffany, and two daughters, Aaliyah and Amaya; mother, Ruthie Mae Williford of Gary, Indiana; sister, Deborah Williford Simpson of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, Donald Edward Williford of Gary, Indiana, Dairon Lee (Kimberly) Williford of Buffalo, New York, and Herman Derrick Williford of Gary, Indiana; nieces, Kia (Brandon) Patton, Stephanie Simpson; Nami Canizales-Hankins, and Kaya Canizales-Hankins; nephews, Dawan Powell, Sean Simpson and Donald Williford, Jr.; father-in-law, Eugene Lynn Hankins, mother-in-law, Karen Lee, brother-in-law, Eugene Emmanuel Hankins, and sister-in-law, Gabrielle Hankins; And a host of extended family and special friends.
Demetrius T. Williford, entered into rest on August 26, 2016. Visitation Friday, September 2, 2016, 4 - 8 PM, at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Arizona., then 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Living Word Bible Church, 3520 E. Brown Road, Mesa, Arizona, where funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM. Interment, Valley of the Sun Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Williford Family Living Trust. The funds will be used to contribute to Aaliyah and Amaya's college fund.
