Gerald “Jerry” Moore 79, passed away in his sleep at Hospice of the Valley in Tempe, AZ on Friday, February 13, 2015. He was born November 19, 1935 to Vivian and Martha Moore in Birmingham Michigan. On January 10th 1959 he married Carol Moore in Colton CA. Gerald enjoyed his family, friends and his 1956 Thunderbird.
Jerry had a long career in law enforcement starting out as a Military Police officer in the Air Force then continuing with 8 years as a Police Officer in Colton California followed by 20 years as an Administrative Justice Teacher at Gavilan College in Gilroy, California.
Survivors include; his 2 sons, Keith Moore of Bakersfield, CA, and Michael Moore of Saratoga, CA; 5 grandchildren Kailee, Kaleb, Sarah, Ryan and Emma; 1 Brother, David Moore of Russellville AR; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol; brothers James and Donald Moore; and sister Mary Embree.
A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 10:00 AM at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd. Chandler, AZ 85248.
