

Ines Elizabeth “Betty” O’Connor, 64, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, surrounded by love. Betty was born on July 15, 1961, in El Salvador. At the age of 14, she moved to Santa Ana, California in 1975, where she built the foundation for the life she would go on to create in the United States.
Betty graduated from high school in California and went on to build a successful and respected 26-year career in the semiconductor industry. She worked in high-tech manufacturing and served as a group leader, a role she took great pride in. Betty loved being part of the technology world and valued the teamwork and friendships she developed throughout her career.
Outside of work, Betty embraced life’s simple joys. She loved traveling, shopping, and spending time with friends. Zumba and Pilates were among her favorite activities, and she was known as a wonderful dancer who truly enjoyed moving to music. Betty also had a special eye for style and beauty. She was always impeccably dressed, loved having her hair and nails done, and took great pleasure in decorating and creating a welcoming space around her.
Those who knew Betty remember her as a private person with a wonderful sense of humor and a calm, peaceful presence. She had a quiet warmth about her that made people feel comfortable in her company.
Betty especially loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises and memorable trips throughout Europe, creating cherished memories along the way.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Robert O’Connor of Chandler, Arizona; her mother, Bertha Nerio; and her sisters, Sonia Nerio, Mercy Nerio, and Ana Nerio, all of Santa Ana, California. She is also survived by her niece Andria Thomas and her nephews Jimi Thomas and Jonathan Nerio.
Betty will be remembered for her grace, her warmth, her sense of humor, and the quiet strength she carried through life. Her husband Robert shared, “Betty was the love of my life and my best friend. I will forever cherish the years we shared and carry her memory in my heart.”
