James Estille Doss

84, of Chandler, AZ, passed away on July 1, 2017, after a long illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was so very proud of his family and the life they had built. He was born in Upland, WV and graduated from Hannan High School in Ashton, WV. His career spanned over 40 years in the structural steel industry where he spent most of his time managing various fabrication plants across the US ending his career in Franklin, TN and later retiring to Arizona. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Canton, OH for over 50 years. His favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening. He was always willing to help someone in need and had a funny story ready for any occasion. He was preceded in death by his father Everett Doss and mother Beulah (Long) Doss of Upland, WV; his sister Audrey Foster of Milton, WV and nephew Bryan Drennan of Marietta, OK. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Loretta Sue; his daughter Pamela Nelson and husband Greg, Phoenix, AZ; grandsons Mark Nelson and wife Lisa, Phoenix, AZ; Andrew Nelson and wife Sara, Ft. Collins, CO; great grandchildren, Audrey and Logan Nelson, Phoenix, AZ; and sisters Goldie Estep, Rowlett, TX; and Ann Drennan and husband Jack, Marietta, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
