

James "Jim" Alan Pohlo, age 86, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 14, 1938 to Ross and Hildur Pohlo. He was married to Arlene Gale Sutter on December 28, 1963. They were married for 62 years and raised two children together, daughter Lisa and son Daniel.
Jim received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University. He worked in the insurance industry for 45 years, and proudly retired from the Mayo Clinic. He was a quiet, loving husband and father who loved to laugh with friends and family at gatherings while sharing stories.
Jim's favorite pastimes were playing golf, sports and going fishing. He loved his wife, family, milk and cookies, ice cream, breakfast, cheeseburger, hot dogs and watching sports on TV. He enjoyed listening to classical, Christmas and opera music.
Jim's proudest moment in life was the birth of his children and watching them grow to become successful adults. He was very proud of his family, home, and his good life they created. Jim's family would like him to be remembered as the best husband and best father they could ask for.
Jim was survived by wife Arlene Pohlo; daughter Lisa Krietenstein; son Daniel Pohlo; grandchildren Maxwell, Annika, Nicholas, Maakena, and Justin; and great grandchildren Gianna Lynn Fortuna Pohlo and
Aaleyah Rose Fortuna Pohlo.
