

Jerry Richard Wright, 87, died at his home in Chandler, Arizona, on December 31, 2011. He was born in Alhambra, CA on April 25, 1924, the son of James and Mildred (Prewitt) Wright. Jerry graduated high school in Selah, WA before joining the 308th Army Air Forces during WWII, where he worked as a heavy automotive equipment operator, refueling planes. After his honorable discharge in 1946, he married Nancy Campbell, his wife of 57 years. He also enrolled in Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City, earning a degree in Civil Engineering in 1950. Jerry was a partner/owner of Metropolitan Survey in Independence, MO for most of his working career. He was a member of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine in Kansas City, Commander of the Legion of Honor in 1999, a Jester and an active member of the Sandblasters Golf club until moving to Arizona in 2004. Preceding him in death was his wife Nancy, in 2003; four brothers, Michael, Dale, Robert and Lloyd; and a sister, Jean Green. Surviving is his daughter, Sandra, son-in-law Paul Mason, and grandsons Ian Mason and Josh Mason, all of Chandler, AZ; his brother Ralph, and sisters Hazel Quinn, Barbara Clawson, Samantha Johnson, and Judy Todd.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. He will be loved and missed by all whose lives he touched. Memorial service is 3:00pm Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Sunbird Clubhouse Ballroom, 6250 Sunbird Blvd., Chandler AZ 85249.
