Martha Jane Colton

Martha Jane Colton of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 82. She was born in Kansas City, MO on January 16, 1939 to Dr. George V. Herrman and Velma (Sarver) Herrman. On October 16, 1958 she married Charles “Jerry” Colton. Born to this marriage were Robert “Craig” Colton and Larry Dean Colton. In 1972 they moved to Chandler, AZ. In later years, Marty was a real estate agent in the greater Phoenix area.

Marty was a loving, sweet, kind person who was always a joy to be around. She suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis from young adulthood but always had a positive attitude. She fought hard for life her final months. All that knew her will miss her greatly.

She is survived by Craig Colton and his wife Angelina, Larry Colton, two grandsons, Jack and Sam Colton, her ex-husband Jerry, her ex-daughter-in-law Brandy Colton, her sister Gloria Liles, her brothers George Herrman and Bill Herrman and his wife Sue. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family would like to give special thanks and gratitude to Brandy Colton. She provided love, support and assistance to Marty over the years, especially during the last few months.
