Max William Boatin

Max William Boatin, 12, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on September 3, 2013, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Max was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose life, though far too brief, was marked by a bright and meaningful presence. Max will be remembered as a kind, spirited, and devoted young man who touched many lives through his character, faith, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Max attended Valley Christian School, where he was an honors student and earned the respect and admiration of his teachers, who consistently praised him. His commitment to learning and his steady determination reflected a thoughtful and conscientious nature that stood out to classmates and adults alike.

A faithful member of Cornerstone Church, Max’s life was grounded in love and community. He found happiness in the things he enjoyed most—especially sports. Max loved basketball and played on the AZ Gremlins basketball team as well as the Valley Christian basketball team. His favorite numbers were always 48 for the Gremlins and 24 for Valley Christian. He also enjoyed golf and was known for his enthusiasm for good food, proudly a pizza aficionado and a devoted lover of ranch dressing. Max was also the #1 LA Lakers and Michigan State Spartans fan, and he carried that loyalty with unmistakable energy.

Max is survived by his parents, Brad Michael Boatin and Michelle Kathleen Boatin; and his twin brother, Brady Matthew Boatin. He is also survived by his grandparents Steven and Kathy Labroff, Addy and William Boatin, and William and Linda Schaecher; aunts Cathy Boatin and Laura Wylie (David); uncles Brandon Labroff, Bob Schaecher (Cathy), and Greg Schaecher (Katie); and many cousins and friends who will cherish his memory always. He is preceded in death by his great-grandma Anna Mae, whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248, on March 15, 2026, from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Valley Christian Schools - K-8 Campus, 6304 S Price Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283, on March 16, 2026, at 4:30 pm.
