A native of Illinois and an Eagle Scout, he attended Purdue University then served in the Army. He married Sue Kendrick and had three daughters. He moved his family to Arizona in 1986 where they all still live. The family took yearly trips back to IL/WI/MI to visit with family and friends. He loved swimming, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes and whatever football game was currently on. In retirement, he took to playing and dealing poker, his favorite pastime.
Mike will lovingly be remembered by a wife of 47 years, Sue, and their children, Jenni (Mark) Warren, Kelly (Ken) Iverson, and Becky Albers, as well as, his three sisters, brother, numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. ‘Paw-paw’ will be greatly missed by his two grandchildren, Reid and River Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lenore Albers.
A service in memory of Mike Albers will be held on Saturday, October 16, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, followed by a light reception from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
