Passed away on October 2, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona after a long illness. Mona was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada to Daniel and Lucinda McCormick. She attended local schools and college in the area and moved to Boston, Massachusetts in the late 1950’s. Shortly thereafter, Mona met her husband, David, they married in 1962 and she became a military wife. Sixteen overseas and U.S. moves followed until her husband retired from the Coast Guard in 1996. They settled in Sun Lakes, Arizona. As a military wife, Mona was involved in numerous wife club activities, which benefited military service members and various organizations and persons of the communities in which she lived. She was a kind, generous and well respected woman who was loved by all. Mona was especially dedicated to caring for and imparting much love to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Genevieve and brother Jerome. Mona is survived by her husband, daughter Anna and grandson Joshua of Woodbridge, Virginia and sister Olga of Sacramento, California.
