Ista, Myron H. of Sun Lakes was called home to be with his Lord on January 6, 2011. He was born May 28, 1921 in Cannon Falls, MN. His family moved 3 years later to Peoria, IL. He served as a 1st Lt Army Infantry in WWII and was awarded 2 bronze medals and the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents Aaron and Pearl (Lena) Ista, his wife Inez Ruth (Vanderheydt) Ista, 2 siblings George Ruben and Aaron Ista and 2 great grandchildren Caden and Bennett Meyer. He is survived by 1 sister Donna Gogele, his children Rev. Myron W. Ista (Tammy), Cindy L. Meyers (Rev. William), Raymon E. Ista and Shelley A. Jackson (Kenneth) along with 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be held at the church he served and loved, Risen Savior Lutheran Church 23914 S. Alma School Rd. Chandler on Thursday, January 13 at 1 pm. Memorials may be given to Risen Savior Lutheran Church or Concordia Seminary St. Louis, MO. Arrangements under the care of Valley of the Sun Mortuary.
