Nancy Hayworth Penry

Nancy Hayworth Penry, 79, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on June 20, 2015. Nancy was born on August 12, 1935 in High Point, NC, the daughter of Myron and Ethel Hayworth. She was united in marriage to Larry Allen Penry on August 3, 1958. They were married for 50 adventurous years! Larry preceded her in death on September 12, 2008. Nancy received her registered nursing degree from High Point Memorial Hospital in 1956. Over the span of her 40-year career as a nurse, she worked at the VA, in public health, and for Indian Health Services. Nancy retired from the Federal Government in 2000. Throughout her life, Nancy was known to be a kind and generous person, who always put family before anything else.

She is survived by: her beloved brother, Myron C. Hayworth, Jr. (Reta) of Myrtle Beach, SC, as well as four children: Allen Penry (Patty) of Tucson, Darah Penry Beeles of Phoenix, Mark Penry of Rim Rock, AZ, and Sarah Binder (Rob) of Apache Junction, AZ. Nancy also leaves 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 pm on June 30, 2015 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
