Nathan Elon Van Briesen, 42, died on May 2, 2019. He was born in Rockford, Illinois, on September 21, 1976. Nathan was a devoted father, brother, son, friend and firefighter. He attended Dixie College and MCC. He was a firefighter/paramedic for the Sun Lakes Fire Department which is now the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority for 19 years. Prior to that, he worked for the Black Canyon City and Rural Metro Fire Departments. Nathan was known for his fierce competitiveness and the generosity of his time and talents. He was a skilled craftsman who could build most anything. He possessed a hard work ethic, a deep love for his family, and great cooking skills. Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Lindsey, children, Ethan and Brooklyn Kate, his parents, Roger and Ruth Van Briesen and brother, Aaron Van Briesen (Jill Lanning) nephew, Tanner and niece, McKenna. Mother-in law, Valerie Fine (Zach Harris), brother-in-law, Jason Fine. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Marc Fine.
