

87, of Mesa, AZ passed away September 9, 2010. Joan Skillman was born in Indianapolis, IN and spent most of her youth in Morristown, IN. In 1945, she married Charles Tremor when he returned from WWII. They lived in Speedway, IN for thirty-three years and then retired to Sun Lakes, AZ in 1981. Joan enjoyed golf, bridge and ceramics. As a member of the Speedway Christian Church, she taught Sunday School. A devoted mother, she also volunteered with the PTA, Girl Scouts and various community programs. Joan worked as a medical assistant and volunteered at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Fannie Skillman and Frank Skillman and husband Charles Tremor who died 26 years earlier on the same day (September 9, 1984). She is survived by brother Ned Skillman (Bonnie) of Palos Verdes, CA, daughters Janice Bradshaw (Don) of Mesa, AZ and Karen Popcheff (Tom) of Speedway, IN. Grandchildren, Laura Raciak (Jeff), Nick Claxton, Mia Claxton, Rae Comparin (Jeff), Jerry Bradshaw, Nikki Johnson (Kyle), Alexa Popcheff, Kristin Popcheff and Great grandchildren, Drew Comparin, Allison Comparin and Quinn Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd. Chandler, AZ 85248. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, P.O Box 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1950 would be appreciated.
