Oren preferred to be called Skinner but would never tell his daughter the story of how he got that nickname. He preferred it to be a mystery. He was born in Sparta, WI and spent most of his life in WI, although he moved to Chandler, AZ in 2016. He was married to Mary Ann Danielson June 20, 1964, and they were married 41 years before her passing. They both spent many years working at Webster Lumber Company in Bangor. Skinner loved the outdoors, and was happiest when camping, fishing, and hunting, although he also really enjoyed playing cards and shaking dice. He always loved car racing and in his later years had an especially great passion for NASCAR, rivaled only by his enthusiasm for Trump. He is survived by his daughter Shelly Winson and her husband Joe Brennan, who live in Chandler, AZ with their dogs Elton John and Kiki Dee. Although Skinner would tell anyone who would listen that he’d rather be in WI, he secretly enjoyed the hot weather and spent hours every day riding around Chandler on his “bike,” a motorized scooter covered in Harley Davidson stickers. He was a known character in the neighborhood and developed friendships at his favorite local haunts Jolie’s Place and The Stadium Club. Skinner did not want a traditional celebration of life. Instead, he liked the idea that people who knew him would simply share a Miller Lite (or a few) and tell funny stories in remembrance of his exploits in life.
