

Patricia Anne Patricia Anne Hancock Gardner, of Chandler, AZ passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the age of 88. Pat – as her friends knew her – born January 9, 1923 in the family home in Casa Grande, AZ, was the oldest of three children born to Reuel and Edith (Sargent) Hancock. Pat contributed to the war effort by repairing airplanes at Williams Air Force Base during WWII. Retiring after 18 years of employment with Chandler Public Schools she then volunteered for several years at the Chandler Public Library. A long-time member of the Chandler Presbyterian Church, Pat served over the years as deacon, and as the church librarian. She was also active in Lois Circle and was awarded an honorary life membership by Presbyterian Women. Survived and greatly missed by daughters Sharman Hart and Rebecca Bond, both of Mesa, AZ, sister, Barbara (Hal) Palacio, Hilo, HI, brother, George Hancock,Tempe, AZ, sister-in-law, Nancy Hancock Casa Grande, AZ, brother-in-law Robert Brutinel, Casa Grande, AZ, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Maxine Brutinel, and brothers Vernon Hancock and Richard L. Thurman. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Gardner (Krista) Hart, Gardner, KS, Erica (Lyosha Sedykh) Hart, Marion, OH, Andrea Hart, Berkeley, CA, Stephanie Hart, Johnson City, TN, and Shannon (Tony)Woods, Amy Bond, Ryan Bond, and Jeremy Bond all of AZ, as well as eleven great-grandchildren who will miss their GG. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 29, 2011, at Valley of the Sun Mausoleum, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. Burial will be immediately after the service at Valley of the Sun. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Presbyterian Church.
