Pauline Laverne Long

Pauline Laverne Long, 91, of Gilbert Arizona passed on December 27, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Eastland, Texas on November 18, 1931 to Kirby and Charlotte Childress. Pauline grew up in Buckeye, Arizona where she met her Husband, Forrest Long.

Pauline and Forrest were married just shy of 73 years. Shortly after starting a family, they moved to Colorado. They have 3 daughters, Pam, Deborah, and Sandy. Pauline was very proud of the family she and Forrest created and she was fortunate to spend time with all 5 generations.

Pauline was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed painting, square dancing, playing cards, and traveling with family and friends met in car associations and RV clubs. Pauline would light up a room with her beautiful smile and energy. Her love and caring spirit will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents Kirby and Charlotte Childress, Brothers Henry and Floyd Childress. Sisters Luda Connolly, Betty Cottle, Blanche Savage, and Mable Pierce.

She is survived by her Husband Forrest Long, daughters Pamela (Dave) Lamb, Deborah (Terry) Utzinger, Sandra (Jim) Lewis. Grandchildren Carolyn (Ken) Phillips, Caren Campbell, David (Betsy) Lamb, Michelle (Bill) Schumacher, Justin Eisenach, Jennie (Rod) Renner, Lisa (Scott) Spears, Steven (Aylssa) Lewis. Great-Grandchildren Ashley, Kaden, Aaron, Kyle, Nathan, Maddy, Anna, Kayla Chelsea, Reece, Becca, Karly, Nick, Nikki, Jett, and Gunner. Great-Great Granddaughter Olive.

A visitation for Pauline will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85248. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:30 AM, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85248. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 12:30 PM, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85248.
