Peggy was born July 23, 1928 in the “big city” of Bobtown, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Jessie (Hensley) Dingle. She and her husband, Bruce, moved from Rockford, Illinois to Arizona in 1987.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years Bruce R. Watson: her loving children, Darlene Watson and David Watson: her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Nik) Gravelle, Arianna Zagnoni, David K. Watson: her beloved great-grandson, Nash Jae Gravelle.
Peggy had fire in her soul and kindness in her heart. She loved reminiscing over ‘the good old days’ growing up in Pennsylvania waiting for the Watson Dairy milk truck to come by with those Watson boys to drop off their milk… yes .. this love story started way back then. Dancing and singing was a big part of her life and it wasn’t uncommon to see her and her granddaughters ‘shuffle hop stepping’ when they got together. The last season of her life was spent celebrating her new found love for dogs, embracing her sweet tooth and sharing stories with all who would listen about her curly-haired Great Grandson who she affectionately referred to as “President Nash”.
Memorial Services will be held for Peggy Iona Watson in the Gazebo at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery on March 27th at 11:30 a.m.
Do not stand on my grave and weep,
I am not here, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not here; I did not die.
