Phyllis Arlene Bisbee Dawson was the daughter of Clarence and Helen Bisbee. She was born in Ford Kansas on her Rinehart grandparents Farm in a snow storm on March 31st 1926. She graduated from Ford High School. She married Melvin Dawson her longtime boyfriend and love from the age of 13 on December 10th, 1944 in her Rinehart grandparents home. Her memories of their farm became sealed in her heart and shared with all through her entire life.
Their first two children Jon and Drinda were born in Dodge City where Melvin owned a Nash Car Dealership. They moved to Colorado Springs Colorado in 1956 where their second two children Clark and Melanie were born. She was grandmother to four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was a mother first and foremost but also was a member of the PTA, a Brownie leader, a Girl Scout leader, a room mother and had great big cinnamon rolls made when we got home from school. In the 1960’s she began china painting. Her art was featured in books, she attended seminars, and became a china painter instructor. She painted everything from small jewelry to sets of china and was very successful selling her wares through many retail avenues.
Two years after Melvin passed away in 2010 she moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona to be near her children
On June 18, 2016 she went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 90.
We will have a celebration of her life at the Ford Community Church in Ford Kansas on Saturday July 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Followed with her burial at the Ford Cemetery and a lunch served at the Fellowship Hall at the Ford Community Church.
