Robert Hugh Burrows

Robert was born on October 1, 1924 in Detroit, MI to Frank Hugh Burrows and Beulah Marie Harmon. On March 6, 1946, he married Mabel Rosemary Tregear in Toledo, Ohio. They raised four daughters and two sons, Nancy Lynn, Beth Ann, Susan Marie, Rebecca Lou, Robert Hugh (Junior) and Kenneth Blake.

Robert was a busy, active husband and father, devoted to his family while having a long and wonderful career in contracting and construction. His hobbies included golf, reading and travel.

Robert served as a Staff Sargent in the Army during World War II in the 80th Division in the European theater from February of 1944 to December of 1945. He was a part of the Battle of the Bulge, fighting in France, Luxembourg and into Germany and received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal for World War II. Robert proudly and honorably served twice as Commander of the Annual Reunion of the 80th Division Veterans Association. Robert received the French Legion of Honor Medal in 2014.

Robert was preceded in his death by his father, Frank, his mother, Beulah, his sisters Barbara and Betty, his brother, Keith, his wife, Mabel and his daughter Nancy. He is survived by his five children, Beth, Susan, Rebecca, Robert Jr. and Kenneth, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
