

Roger Erwin died peacefully on April 29th, at the age 62 in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Roger was known as “Dale” to his family. Roger, who had 13 siblings, moved with his family to Yuma, Arizona in 1947 right after birth. He graduated from Yuma High School in 1965 and then attended Arizona Western College. In 1967, he was married to Wanda Giffen Erwin, his loving wife of 43 years. After school, Roger completed a 6-year enlistment with the California National Guards. He would spend over 40 years as a management executive with TG&Y, McCrory, and Big Lots stores. Roger and Wanda, with their four children, would call California and Arizona their home until 2001. Over the past 9 years, Roger managed the northeastern region for Big Lots Stores, and resided in Bel Air, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore. He loved classic cars and built his prized possession, a cherry red 1950 Ford pick-up, over a five year period. Family was everything to Roger, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Wanda; sons, Michael Erwin and wife Mickey of Aliso Viejo, California, Brian Erwin and wife Shelli of Chandler, Arizona, Patrick Erwin and wife Janet of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Allison Hebert and husband Tim of Delta, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Alexander, George, Alyssa, Chloe, Easton, Christopher, Olivia, Ruthy, and Neal.
