
Born in Denver, Colorado on September 10,1937, He was the only child of Howard Victor Ladwig and Audrey Virginia (Savage) Ladwig. Who preceded him in death.
He married Gale Louise (Childress) of Denver, Colorado on May 5, 1962. Surviving are his wife and 2 sons Lance and Eric of Chandler, Arizona. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Spencer, Ryan, Joseph, Ty, Tori, Bryson and Simon and great granddaughter Evelyn Mae. His son Christopher preceded him in death.
Ron received his B.A. degree from University of Denver. His M.A. degree was from California State University at Northridge. His Ph.D. was earned from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He served in the U.S.N.R. from 1955-1963.
Ron began his teaching career at Van Nuys High in California as Director of Dramatics and served for 7 years. He moved to the college level as Chairman of Speech and Theater at Ohio Northern University in Ada Ohio for 12 years where he authored “Black Comedy of Ben Caldwell” and submitted for publication. He completed his teaching career as Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at Weber State College, Ogden Utah. He was also the Managing and Artistic Director of the Utah Musical Theatre, the Utah Arts Council, Vice President of the Western Region of the American College Theatre Festival/Rocky Mountain Theatre Festival, Ogden City Mayor’s council for preservation of the Egyptian Theatre and a member of Troup #4 Boy Scouts Advisory Board. Upon retirement he moved to St. Augustine, Florida. His passion for history led him to the Head Docent position at the historical Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church where he was a member. His final journey was a move to Arizona to be close to his sons and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 20, 2021, at his home.
