Ronnie was born in Elgin ND on April 12th, 1941, to Albert L. Rivinius and Tillie (Schulz) Rivinius. Ronnie was the oldest of three boys and at a young age developed a love for the land and farming on the family homestead. After graduating from Elgin High School in 1958 where he met the love of his life Ruby Maier, Ronnie joined the Army National Guard. In 1961 he returned home to marry Ruby, work on the family farm and start a family having a son Todd and a daughter Larae. After Ronnie and Ruby were married they spent 59 remarkable years together never leaving each others side for very long. Ronnie eventually took over the family farm and also started a trucking company hauling livestock. Ronnie was also President of the North Dakota Wheat Growers Association and then moved on to become the President of the National Wheat Growers Association. After many accomplishments Ronnie took a job working for Dupont Agricultural Products which moved him and Ruby to Wilmington, DE for a few years, and then Red Oak, IA for a bit where he did manage to squeeze in time for several rounds of golf that he loved so much to play. As fate would have it another agricultural opportunity arose and took Ronnie and Ruby to Chandler, AZ where he would eventually take a job with the U.S. Postal service and retire. He very much enjoyed the company of family and friends any chance he could, and of course any conversation about farming. He enjoyed hunting in the mountains and fishing with his friends.
Ronnie is survived by his brothers Larry (Denise) Rivinius, and Doug (Jolene) Rivinius, his sister Claudia Dobitz, his son Todd (Julie) Rivinius, daughter Larae Lindell, Grandson Brandon (Dayna) Rivinius, granddaughter Stevie Siedel, and great grandchildren Katy-Jo Rivinius, Stetson Rivinius, Blake Rivinius, and Tannor Siedel.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife Ruby, and his parents Tillie Rivinius, Leata Rivinius, and Albert L. Rivinius.
Services will be at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 am.
